A Shared Services Centre?
It's a pool of business
administration resources that you can draw on when you require
it. You can access skills at the right level for the action
required. It can provide economies of scale in providing
all the non-core necessities of running a business leaving
you to do what you do best, developing those ideas that
made you go into business in the first place.
Where
Is It?
At the moment it's not!!
A few years ago we put a proposal to Oxford Innovation to
establish branded service centre's in their serviced offices
in the South and East Midlands. These would be manned by
qualified bookkeepers to manage clients day to day accounting
needs, with links to a central resource for more technical
accounting and HR services.
After some heel dragging
they decided not to go ahead :-(
